Cellular microdynamics: Analyzing cells based on their dynamic physical and chemical differences including genomic assessments, using micro- and nano-fabrication technologies.

Nanometer (nm): Unit of length for measuring molecules and cell organelles. 1 nm = 1E-3 µm = 1E-9 m.

Nanocell surgery: The modification of cellular structures using medical nanomachines.

Nanobiotechnology: Using the tools and processes of nano/microfabrication to build devices to study biosystems.

Nanoscale cell biology: The investigation towards a mechanistic understanding of cellular function based on the nanoscale.

Nanoscale materials: Synthetic and natural materials engineered at the nanoscale for new properties to be applied in nanobiotechnology.
