Enzyme Glossary

Enzyme: A protein that accelerates chemical reactions.

Enzyme assay: Measuring enzyme activity using a specific substrate through various analyses, including the quantification of the end product or colorimetric analysis.

Cytochrome P450: A superfamily of hemeproteins, may be involved in the biosynthesis of steroids, fatty acids, and bile acids, as well as the metabolism of endogenous and various exogenous substrates such as toxins and drugs.
